Striated Purple Bag

My colleague had given me some balls of yarn from Thailand when she came back to Jakarta couple weeks ago. I'm so happy to get these ball of yarns. What a beautiful yarn she given to me !!!
Thanks a lot mba :)

I showed these yarns to my mom and suddenly she asked me to make her a simple square bag to be used when she goes to the church. Then, she chose striated purple yarn (nice choice mom ^.^d).
Using clover hook #6, I started to crochet it.
In the beginning, the bag size was too big (length approximately 35 cms).
My mom little bit complaint about the size. Soo, I tried to re-crochet again and made it smaller 5cms.

I love this kind of yarn. It is s
oo thick but soft enough when we touch it. I think it is very suitable to make a bag. You do not need to use additional fabric inside the bag because the density between stiches are soo tight. Therefore, you don't have to worry about your things you bring.

I used a pair of wooden handler (as my mom requested), wooden button (mom didn't want to use zipper for her bag), and attached a dark purple (using softy cotton yarn) flower in button hole to make it more feminine.

And here is the result !!!!

Hope you like it mom, I made it for you with all my love !!! ^_^

Cody's package

Baby Cody is here and your auntie hasn't prepare your package yet dear.... T__T
So, with hurry, I tried to finish it - the package consists of a baby hat and cocoon; using sky blue cotton yarn and white softy cotton.

First I made the hat, because I thought I've had some experiences to crochet it. So, it must be easy to crochet it.But I was wrong !!! I tried to make using sc stiches but the result wasn't good and too small even for a new baby born !!!
If I used dc stiches, it was too wide between the stiches.
About 2 till 3 days I tried to re-crochet again again and again !!!
Geezzz, what a mess and I ran out of the time >.<"o

Two weeks after that, I made a baby cocoon. Once again, I confused about the technique I used: knitting or crocheting ??
If I used knitting, I only knew knit and purl stiches.

In the beginning, I decided to use knitting technique then I changed it - once again the reason was I ran out of the time - and ooppsss, the yarn already gone !!! Huhuhuhu.... what should I do??? T__T
With a heavy heart, I finished the cocoon (I hadn't blue yarn stock either); attached a bright red crocheted car in the middle of cocoon to make it cuter.

Next day, I gave it to my friend and prayed that it fits to her/his son. But my pray isn't granted T___T (shamed of me !!!).
Huuuaaaaaaaa.... hikssss....

Flower Vest

Finally I have my new vest to be matched with my white blouse !!!

I made this vest during my Ied Mubarak Holiday. For almost 3 days, I tried finishing it.

The pattern I got from a crochet magazine, authored and published by an Indonesian. I'm so gratefull that Indonesia can produce this kind of magazine and hopefully in the future, Indonesia can produce it more.

Because of my lack of yarns, I changed the color.
For example based on magazine, flower pattern is using white yarn; but I changed it using grey yarn.
In above, I'm using light pink, grey blue, light red and grey.
I think those colors can match each other.

What do you think ???

The lesson I got from this project that I should practice how to hide different color of yarn-joint and know further about its technique !!!

But overall, I feel satisfy with the result !!! \^0^/

Blue Wings Baby Hat

It's such an honour for me if my friends are wearing my crochet handmade and I'm so proud if they show or want to share it through some pictures to me.

Like one of my friend did for me to her daughter - well, actually I asked her to take it, ahahahha....

She requested me to make a baby hat to her (approximately) 5 months daughter where the hat has a couple wings in its back.

She requested any colors except pink and red because she already had those. So I chose sky blue color softy cotton, mixed with white - also softy cotton - for its line and wings.

Finished the hat just a day and the result not as same as requested. Supposed to be its shape is oval, but I made it round so that it looks like a pilgrim hat.... hihihihi - sorry friend, don't mean too :p

My friend told me that the hat is too big for her daughter.
Well, I hope the hat can be worn to her daughter for a very long time ^.^v

You are so beautiful wearing that hat, Averina :)

Jilbab Girl

Suddenly I got a sms from someone, asked me to make an ami girl wearing jilbab version. Then my phone rang, I realized that the person is my colleague. Hah... you made me surprise dear :)

In short conversation, she wanted me to made 4 jilbab girl amis and hopefully I could finish it just for 3-4 days. Well, let we start it !!! I accept your challenge, ahahahaha....

The difficultie when I was crocheting this ami is I don't know how to wear jilbab (I'm not a moslem). So I asked to my friend who is wearing jilbab, was it wrong or not. I wanted to make it as perfect I can.

Over my prediction that I could not crochet these amis after working hour, hikksss...

Sorry my friend if I cannot fulfill my promise to you.

So many works to do that made me to take some overtime in the office and I couldn't continue these at home.
But I already finished 2 amis for you with different version (read: color), hihihihi... v^.^v

Hope you like it friend....

Hairpins

Previous month, I was requested by my friends to make a hairpin as a gift to her pony tail friend.

She requested a black hairpin with a pink band in the middle. So, I chose knitting method to make it, using black and pink pale softy cotton yarns.

This was the first time I used knitting method to my friend's request and the result wasn't good enough T___T.
But thanks God, my friend still accepted my obstacle.

The other request was from my colleague.
She wanted to make some tiny hairpins to her daughters, two circle and butterfly tie shapes.
The colors of circle shape hairpins are light red and pink while butterfly tie shape hairpins are pink and orange.
Then I sewed a pink rubber to them.
And finished !!!

I do love this hairpin !!! And also love to make it !!!
Soo cute !!! ^__^v

Purple-Pink Flower Bag

One day, my friend asked me to make a small bag that she can bring her stuffs (wallet, handphone, and other things) and hang it in her shoulder when she walked somewhere at lunch break.
She wants pink and purple color for her bag too. The design of bag is free.

So I made her bag like this:
pink softy cotton yarn in the beginning - as bottom of the bag - then I changed yarn with purple color for the next 4 rows; changed it again with pinky color for the next 4 rows and so on. For finishing - as handler, I decided to use purple color to match it with the previous color.

To make it girly, I attached some flower beads (small pinky flower and bigger blue flower) in the corner of the bag.
DONE !! Completed it only one and a half day without any necessary obstacles.

Hope my friend love this handmade crochet bag and make her more stylish when she walks to someplace she wants to without any difficulties to hold so many things in her hands.

Sleeping Baby Bee

Another pending ami I've been finished after a year ago !!!
This ami was taking from my nephew's pillow character called Baby Bee if I'm not mistake.
A cute sleeping bee I thought and I love this creature very much so I tried to make it with my own pattern in my mind.

I didn't understand why I (look like) abandoned all crochet stuffs I've been made, ahahahaha - well, not my purpose to do that actually.

At the same previous long weekend holiday, when I cleaned up my room, I found this abandoned baby bee in the corner of my yarn box. It was trying to attract me to be completed (its condition was without a pair of wings and its sting).
I got it from the box then I placed it in my table so that I remembered and concious to finish it.
Not took much time to make it perfect - I just crochet a pair of tiny wings using broken white softy cotton and brown wool for the sting.
Sewed those things to its body.

Mission is complete !!!
My cute little sleeping baby bee, you are really-really charming dear.

Size = 5 X 6 cms.

Dotted Snoopy

Made it as a sequel of previous Snoopy ^.^v

After a long time not to continue it, finally I finished it during my long weekend holiday.

Why I call this ami a dotted snoopy because this Snoopy has so much colorful dots in its whole body. Unique huh ???

Using not a quarter ball of Sirdar Snuggly, black softy cotton yarn, and 3/4 size hook needle; the size of this dotted Snoopy is bigger than the original one (height 10 cms). For its necklace I used peach softy cotton yarn and sew a star bead on it.

And voila... it's a cute Snoopy, right ??? ^.^d

Beatsie Daemon

Had an order from my friend to make a keychain that represents a symbol or mascot of FreeBSD - it's an open source Unix based operating system (you can google it to make sure and correct me if I mistake) - called Beatsie.
It wasn't too difficult to make it.
Just provide some meters of light red yarn, a bundle of dacron and a keychain.
Crochet it cirlce using sc stiches and taraaaaaa.... finish!!
Only took 15 minutes to make it completely. So simple, right ??? v^.^v

Hope you like it friend and make you enthusiastic in learning this OS - don't forget to teach us sir ^.^d

Aylo the Inu

It's been a long time not to crochet an amigurumi and I miss it a lot !!!
So I began crocheting based on a pattern, a dog amigurumi pattern, I found in one of crocheting website - forget to copy paste the link as my reference.
Started crocheting yesterday and just finished its head, body and 4 legs. I thought I'm going to continue this tomorrow because I felt so tired and I had to get up early in purpose to go to the church (hey, tomorrow is an Easter day and I have to go to the church with my family).

Tomorrow has came but when I wanted to continue this ami, my laziness came up - bad behaviour I've had and cannot be erased if I've done monotonous activity.
So, to release that bad behaviour, I watched a DVD. Picked a movie titled 'Hachiko - A dog's tale', played it in my DVD player....
The movie is ssoooo ggggooooddd according to my opinion.
So touching with the dog's loyalty and I cried watching it. It reminds me to my oldest dog named Aylo that already passed away many years ago in front of me - I think she wanted to say good bye to me....

(The pictures above was taken 1 day before Aylo passed away. She was a gorgeous dog I ever had in my life and I late to realize that. A smart and understanding dog).

After watched the movie, suddenly I had a great spirit to finish this ami.

So here it is....
I devided its color into white and dark brown yarn. Because of my carelessness, I made its eyes too big. So I circumvented these with made a circle around the eyes by remainder white yarn - look like an eyelid.
Also I add a green necklace around its neck with a blue shiny star as a necklace pendant.

To be honest, I'm not satisfy with the result - its eyes are still too big for me, make this dog doesn't look like a real dog.
Someday if I have a good mood to make an amigurumi, I'll crochet this dog amigurumi again, near like a real dog, hope I can do that :)
Size = 5 X 6 cms.

* This amigurumi is my honour for all dogs in the world, thanks for being a human friend and brightening our days without any intention from us...

Baby Hat with overlapping flowers

Couple weeks ago, my friend asked me if I can make a baby hat like some pictures she had shown to me. Without any doubt I replied yes and not took so much time I already finished the hat on last week. Then, I made a bunch of flower consist of different pink yarns to beutify its look.

To be honest I really really like this hat and for your info, I made this pattern by myself.
See the example pictures that my friend had given to me (consists of sc stiches and some rows of shell stiches I think), I modified the stiches with dc for row above and bottom, also 3 rows of shell stiches in the middle.

For the flower, I used 3 different colors of pink - pink pale, pink mud, and pink same as the hat - and attached 1 pink bead on overlapping flowers. I didn't sew this flower but I used a pin (like a brooch) so that if my friend want to change it frequently, she can do it as she want to.

Next question in my mind is how do I give this hat to her baby ???
Sorry girls, I haven't visited yet both of you @_@
Well, hope she and her lovely daughter love it.... ^.^

Diameter = 52 cms.

ID Card Necklace

Finally I made this neclace to put my ID Card by myself !!!

Using sky blue yarn, a key holder, and a light blue stopper results a lovely bluish id card necklace which I love it very much !!!
ehehehe...

Dissapointed with previous hanger that can be broken easily & placed it in the shirt near chest, this hanger I made in purpose to be hung in my neck.

And I think it won't be broken anymore even it is not too thick - unless it cuts by a scissors or any sharp thing.

The pattern I take from a crochet book authored by Thata Pang (her third book if I'm not mistake). Soo, do you like my new ID Card necklace gals ??? ^.^

Length = 82 cms.

Goliath Tote

Finally I finished making this bag !!!

I name it Goliath Tote because of its size which is very very big according to my opinion.

This is my friend's order and I made it more than a month !!!

The obstacle was feeling so bored when made this bag; monotonous pattern; felt never ending project and tired - not every week I crocheted this bag because I had prioritized activities to be done, not to mention that my friend don't like bright color - made me little bit confused between how to match the colors and I only have limited yarns in my house.

To make this bag different from other model bag, I attached some colored butterflies on it in the corner.
Different color butterfly on each side (as her request). On front side, I used light blue and purple yarn and back side, creamy and light blue butterfly. I also sewed few blue sequeins in large butterfly to make it shiny.

My friend always say to me that she don't like girly stuff and like bigger size bag with short handle... and here it is, I hope you like the bag I made it to you with all my love, time, and energy.... ahahahha....

The lesson I get from this project is never never again accept order for a very very big size bag... Soooo boringggg you knowwww !!! Ehehehee....

Size = 44 X 34 cm.

Fat Bottom Bag

I made this bag almost a half year ago !!
It wasn't because complicated pattern but I was looking for a good handle which in the beginning, I planned to use circle wood for it then I changed my mind. I wanted to make other type fat bottom bag handle.
Finally, I used only glittered yarn for the handle and I made it longer than previous.

I used broken white softy cotton and glittered brown acrylic yarn.
When I showed this bag to my coworker, she was very enthusiast and wanted to order it with longer handle than this so she can bring this bag in her shoulder...
When I asked her what does this bag for, she answered 'I think I'll use it to go to the party'... humm...

What do you think, does this bag suitable for party bag ???

Size = 24 X 14 cm.

Peach Chakra Purse

Honestly, felt soo desperate and fed up when made this bag because I had to re-crochet over and over again, soo exhausted !! x(
But I didn't give up (there is no such that word in my bible... ahahaha), just curious whether I could made this bag and how long... ehehehe...

When I understood the pattern, wow... that wasn't difficult at all instead I really enjoy crocheting this bag and want to make it again with bigger size.

Crochet this bag needs approximately 3 rolls of yarn - I used 2 rolls of peach softy cotton and 1 roll of yellow ICT for its edge.

Well, I think I will use it on Chinese New Year this sunday.... *show off mode on :)

Size = 24 X 18 X 4 cm.

Love Fairy

Valentine's day will come soon and I thought to made some amigurumis (I cut short as ami) that suitable with the occassion.
So, during my long annual leaves, I decided to crochet some of those.

First ami I made look like this.
Short haircut with few bangs on her head and a glitter red heart is in her hand while in back side I attached a pair of tiny wings to fly.
As head accessories, I made a circle headband and sewed a pinky flower to make her cuter.
At last, I made a crocheted hanger from black yarn (just like her hair) above her head so that I can stick it in my car window.
Does she look really cute ??? :)
She?? Yup, I planned to create 2 types of - which I called - Love Fairy : girl and boy.

In different day, I made 2 amis lineally.
I made the girl same as ami above except this time I made her hair quite long without any black hanger above and she was holding orange heart.
For the boy I chose sky blue color, short hair and he was holding yellow heart.
What do you think...
Do they a great couple ever ?? ^.^

Christmas Bunny

I made this bunny amigurumi as requested by my best friend. He said that he wants to give it as a christmas present to his friend.

For the first time, he wanted me to make a character named Labbit (you can googling what does it look like) but after I finished making the prototype, it wasn't cute at all !!!
Labbit character is so simple, a rabbit with white fur and long ear. The uniqueness is in its butt - there is a place to put your point finger in it ??? What a strange character I said.
So, I proposed to him to make another type of cute bunny with additional accessories was requested by him.

The making of it was in hurry. Not because he wanted to get it soon, but I had certification examination that made me have to study very intensely. During that period, I didn't accept any crochet orders from anyone. And thank God, I pass the examination with good result !!!
Yippie... !!!

Finally, I gave the bunny on time and he satisfied with the result even its tie was too big... ehehehe...

Size = 5 X 16 cm.
